Wingu Tingima was born at Nyumun in the western desert region of Western Australia. She was instrumental in establishing the Irrunytju Art Centre and later worked predominantly through Tjungu Palya Artists. Painted in 2009, Kuru Ala refers to the site of the Seven Sisters Story.
