Designed by Australian knitwear label WAH-WAH in collaboration with the Art Gallery of New South Wales, this vibrant jumper transforms Doris Bush Nungarrayi’s 2023 Sulman Prize–winning painting Mamunya ngalyananyi (Monster coming) into a wearable work of art.
Made from 100% merino wool, it features detail from Doris Bush Nungarrayi’s captivating depiction of mamus – shapeshifting spirit beings the artist refers to as ‘cheeky ones’. This design incorporates two different space-dyed yarns to introduce as much colour as possible, and to create a painterly and textured feel. Much like the ‘cheeky ones’, no two jumpers will ever be identical due to the unpredictability of the vibrant changing yarn.
