Japan Supernatural: Vertiginous After Staring at the Empty World Too Intensely, I Found Myself Trapped in the Realm of Lurking Ghosts and Monsters is a large-scale painting by Japanese contemporary artist Takashi Murakami. Commissioned in 2019 for the exhibition Japan Supernatural, the painting combines Murakami’s inimitable style with his passion for Japanese folklore and history and is part of the Art Gallery of New South Wales collection.
