Brett Whiteley is one of Australia’s most celebrated artists best known for his sensual and lyrical paintings of interiors, nudes and harbour scenes. After establishing himself as an artist abroad, he resided in the Sydney harbour-side suburb of Lavender Bay. Painted in 1981, Lavender Bay in the rain captures the outlook from his home studio.
